Kosta Shatrov works in the fields of economy and society with a focus on health policy, health economics, and health care management.

Previously, he worked as a research associate at the KPM Center for Public Management at the University of Bern and at the Swiss Institute for Translational and Entrepreneurial Medicine (sitem-insel) for five years. In his PhD thesis, he analyzed the economic effects of regulatory changes on the medical device industry and Swiss acute care hospitals. As a member of the international research group ICCONIC (International Collaborative on Costs, Outcomes and Needs in Care), he led a work package and was responsible for the preparation and analysis of patient-level data used to compare the health systems of Switzerland and ten other OECD countries.
Before his doctoral studies, he worked as a management consultant at a German IT consulting company, focusing on data analysis and process management. He studied economics at the Freie Universität Berlin and at the University of Bayreuth and specialized in empirical economic research and economic policy.
