Lukas Gafner works in the area of traffic planning. His work includes analyses on the supply and demand in public transport as well as in the development of operational and network concepts.
After his training as a surveyor with expertise in GIS, he studied municipal, traffic, and regional planning at the Eastern Switzerland University of Applied Sciences in Rapperswil, completing his degree with a major in traffic planning. During his studies, his main areas of interest were aggregate traffic themes and the compatibility of housing and traffic. In his bachelor thesis, he showed how pedestrian traffic can contribute to coping with inner city traffic using the city of Bülach, Switzerland, as an example.
