"If new buildings in India are built in an energy-efficient way, a hundred million tonnes of CO2 could be saved up to 2030". That's how SDC Vice-Director Pio Wennubst emphasises the importance of the 'Indo-Swiss Building Energy Efficiency Project BEEP project (interview on SDC website). The project drew up the technical basis for the new energy efficiency standard for residential buildings that India has introduced throughout the country. Developed in partnership with Switzerland, the regulations result in significant energy and CO2 savings, especially where building cooling is concerned.
