Many Swiss companies want to electrify their freight transport fleets. Finding the right fleet composition and charging strategy is one of the challenges of this. With federal support, INFRAS is developing a decision-making tool for companies.

The Global Environment Facility (GEF) is the central authority for financing climate and environmental protection measures in developing countries. Switzerland has a seat on the GEF Council. INFRAS supports the Federal Office for the Environment by providing project evaluations.

The effects of climate change are already both tangible and measurable in Switzerland. Climate policy aims to respond to the issue. But what will things be like in 70 or so years? An ongoing research project illustrates potential socioeconomic and political developments of Swiss climate policy. INFRAS is in charge of implementing the project. 

The road infrastructure account is an important foundation for transport policy decisions. On behalf of the Federal Statistical Office (FSO), INFRAS compiled data on the methodology used and changes to the account into a methodology report.

All the buses in the city of Schaffhausen will soon be entirely electric. Next, the plan is for all buses in the region to follow suit and become fossil free. But how? INFRAS conducted a feasibility study for the canton of Schaffhausen. The study also took into account how service and infrastructure will be impacted.

More traffic, more freight on the railway, and the growth of residential areas on either side of the Gotthard portal: INFRAS, along with partner offices, was commissioned by the federal government to investigate the impact of the Gotthard axis's new rail infrastructure on traffic and space. However, the Gotthard tunnel is just one factor at play. 

The Climate Ledger Initiative (CLI) aims to accelerate climate action by using digital innovation. In its Navigating Report 2023, the international multi-stakeholder initiative, which is coordinated by INFRAS, looks back at important milestones and provides an outlook on digitalisation trends.

Our highly valued colleague and good friend Daniel Sutter passed away much too soon after a serious illness. Dani was an important pillar for INFRAS for almost 20 years. He left his mark on us, with his work and as a person. 

Which climate-related risks must be anticipated by actors of development cooperation in the coming one to three years? For the third time, INFRAS has identified regional and global hotspots of climate risks and summarized key developments for the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).
